The Photo Meme Hall of Shame presents How to Save Yourself a Lot of Hassle when Posting to a Meme (Unit 1)

OK, so this is what you do. You get yourself a multi-purpose photo like this here banana and make it work its butt off for you. This one photo can be entered in a different meme for several weeks running. Themes that would obviously work for this photo are, for example: 'fruit', 'yellow', 'lunch', 'skin' and 'rude'. But learn to think outside the box- why not also post to 'apple', 'corporate', 'winter', 'sharp' and 'presidential'? At worst people will think you are just some dumb-ass who linked to the wrong photo; at best, people will think they're just dumb-asses for not getting the connection. The bottom line is, traffic is up and you're a happy bunny, laughing all the way to the Stat Counter. Genius.

We at the Photo Meme Hall of Shame gives kudos to Anonymous for calling us on our entry of this Macro Banana (Although it's not a REAL banana but a Nano-Banana. Say it, you'll like it. It's only 15 microns long.) Anonymous's comment is the type of policing we strongly encourage. GOOD JOB ANONYMOUS!

This is my first ever visit to your site and I am laughing my A** off!

Your write up and your "15-micron long banana response to the previous comment are just awesome. The funny thing is that in the case of Lensday "Minimal" this actually is sort of legitimately relevant.

It's basically a single color and a single simple form...so actual IS sort of "minimal " if you think about it ;)

I look forward to seeing this image again in themes like "male", "skinny", "healthy", "tropical", "arch" (rotate 90 degrees clockwise for that one), "concave", "convex", etc. It seems this image is so universal it has near-limitless memepotential.

In fact, now that there is a picture that can go in the dictionary next to it, I am going to make up a new word: "memeable".

In any case, I enjoyed my visit to your site. Thanks for having the balls to say what so many of us think!

We here at the Photo Meme Hall of Shame would like to cut off all you complaining commenters by telling you that one of us is, in fact a Banana.

An exotic Nano-Banana (Say it outloud, you know you want to.)

A portrait of a banana? Well, it's something other then that girl with the pearl earing every time. Still, I think that there are a lot of photographers who do try to fit the theme.

Dear iphi, And if they do they will not appear before our little kangaroo court. If they do not, they may. Or is it the other way around? We get so confused working so late after such long days in the sewers.

Dear photodude,

This banana nonsense is indeed cock. During our recent staff luncheon your comment came up and it was decided that we were unable to tell if it is Pro Hall of Shame or Con Hall of Shame. Therefore, we elect to answer twice respectively.

If Pro: yes, that's exactly as it's intended, to make a mockery of those people who etc etc...

If Con: yes, that's exactly as it's intended, to make a mockery of those people who etc etc...

Either way, we like to make poor people going the extra metre to get a few more clicks seem like less of an arse when choosing subjects.

Ours intention is not to bully and berate, but to enlighten and educate.

Love and respect,

Your noisy upstairs neighbors,

Memes Monitor and Shame, Esq.

banana would be kind of unique, actually. What can be counted on 100 percent are the pix of cute, blonde kids (monstly girls), flowers of all kinds, bugs on flowers of all kinds, cats sitting like cats, dogs looking embarrassed, oh, and did I mention cute kids? And babies. And flowers of all kinds.
